"Cupid Forging the Links of Matrimony" Token Necklace
The full title of this button is "Cupid Forging the Links of Matrimony Watched by the Lovebird". I love this button so much because the cupid is making jewelry. The button is also called Hymen Forging the Double Wedding Band" Or "Hymen God of Marriage."
After doing a little more digging online, I found out that Hymenaios or Hymenaeus (Hymen), in Hellenistic religion, is a god of marriage ceremonies, inspiring feasts and song.
These pendants are cast by hand from molds of antique buttons that we have collected over the years. Each one is unique and no two are alike.

Antique buttons have been a huge part of Brandy McNair's life. She started collecting at a young age with her Grandmother Florine who was a collector and dealer. Brandy dreamt of replicating the imagery on the buttons in her jewelry designs and has been fine tuning her skills since she started Bella Vita in 2008.
